Imperial Fists Command

Imperial Fist Praetor model

In the Horus Heresy, leadership shapes how an army behaves. Character challenges give the current edition its edge, and command choices define the kind of list you’re building. A well-placed leader can hold the line one turn longer than it should.

For the Imperial Fists, that’s especially true. They aren’t reckless. They hold, measure, and apply pressure where it counts. Command is structure.

The Praetor is built on a Fafnir Rann body. I swapped in a resin Imperial Fists Praetor shield and armed him with a thunder hammer from somewhere deep in the bits box. I honestly don’t remember its origin. I’m happiest with the column he’s standing on. It gives him presence without feeling theatrical.

Imperial Fists Chaplain

The Chaplain started as Grimaldus. With some restraint and a few changes, he shifts cleanly into the Heresy era. He feels less like a shouting zealot and more like a steady moral weight in the centre of the line.

The Master of Signals is the most involved conversion. Tank commander torso. Computer and auspex from the Heresy tank sprue. The rifle is built from plastic tubing and cut-down bolter parts.

Imperial Fists Castellan

The Castellan began as a Black Templars Castellan and was heavily reworked to carry a heavy bolter. It’s an imposing weapon for a command model, but that’s the point. He doesn’t stand behind the line.
